A six-day training and workshop on testing and evaluation and item writing for Hindi teachers and research scholars has begun at National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) of Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru.
Prof Rajesh Sachdeva, former director, in-charge of CIIL, inaugurated the programme. In his inaugural speech he said that truthful and scientific evaluation is the need of the hour. “In this connection, teachers should understand the different parameters of testing and evaluation and also cultivate better knowledge of first, second and third language teaching methods and interrelation between them.”
He further added that teachers must develop their proficiency in teaching, testing and evaluation with special interest and also should think of innovative teaching methods to enhance the knowledge of students for their better progress.
Dr L Ramamoorthy, officer in-charge of LDC-IL, in his speech, spoke on the present education system.
Dr. M Balakumar, Former Head, NTS-I and Prof. K V V L Rao, former principal of SRLC, who was present during the function, wished the success of the workshop. Around 17 assistant professors/lecturers/research scholars, who are engaged in teaching/research of Hindi (language and literature) in recognised degree colleges (government, government-aided institutions) and at university level are participating in this training workshop.
