Mysuru, October 1:- Primary and Secondary Education Minister N Mahesh on Monday said that the surplus teachers will be transferred first.
Speaking to media persons in the city, the minister said that the schools having excess teachers will be transferred first and later the compulsory transfers.
“Teachers in rural areas will be transferred to urban areas and vice-versa. This rule will be applicable to the teachers working in town panchayat to BBMP schools. Teachers will be transferred based on their request in the 3rd stage. We wanted to transfer teachers based on consideration. As we could not do it, we are doing it based on transfer rules. We have taken measures to ensure that the transfer of the teachers doesn’t affect the schools. The government has already released Rs 150 crore out of Rs 400 crore dedicated for the reconstruction and repair of school buildings. We are expecting the central government to provide Rs 200 crore under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan,” he said. (MR/KS).
