Trekking ‘temporarily’ banned in Karnataka forests

Prime News, Karnataka, National, Bengaluru, March 13:- Following the forest fire in Tamil Nadu, the Karnataka forest department has issued an order ‘temporarily’ banning trekking in the state forests until rain showers.

According to the order, several areas in the state were fire-prone and in the wake of forest fire in Theni district in Tamil Nadu which claimed 10 lives, the forest department has banned trekking in Karnataka forests till the time the dry season ends.

With this, Karnataka became the second state to issue such orders after Kerala. On Monday morning, the Kerala government temporarily banned trekking in state forest areas as well.-(KK)
