Tribals demand better facilities in Ashram schools

Mysuru, June 12:- Tribal organisations staged a protest in front of the DC office on Monday, demanding improvement in Ashram schools on the lines of those in Kerala. They were also asking the district administration to fulfill some of their other demands.

“More than 6,000 forms have been submitted by the tribal families who were evacuated from forest belt. But their demands have not been fulfilled,” the protesters said.

“Plus 2 should be introduced in Ashram schools in the state as in  Kerala. These schools should be built in all taluks in 10 acres of land. These schools should have all the basic amenities like health, accommodation for teachers and sports facilities,” they said. (MR/GK).
