Mysuru, June 18:- The owners of goods truck staged a protest in the city on Monday, condemning the hike in diesel price and third party insurance price. The protest has been called nationwide to oppose the fuel price hike.
Following a call given by All India Confederation of Goods Vehicle Owners’ Association and the Federation of Karnataka Lorry Owners’ Association, the Mysuru District Truckers’ Association launched an indefinite lorry strike starting from Monday.
The protesters said that they would not let any goods carriers on road except essential goods such as milk, vegetables and medicine. They alleged that the central government has not responded to their request.
Lorry Owners’ Association secretary M Swamy, Chandra Sampangi, Manju Bandipalya, Basavaraj, Dinesh Naik and others were present. (KS, NGB)
