Two arrested in connection with robbery case

Mysuru, March 19:- In connection with a robbery case at Saraswathipuram on March 17, the police have arrested two people and are on the lookout for the other three involved in the theft. The police have not revealed the names of those who have been arrested. The complaint has been lodged by Sumukha Shastri, a first-year MBBS student of JSS Medical College, Mysuru.

Sumukha, who lives with his parents and grandparents, said, “My parents are doctors by profession and they usually come home late. My classmate Akash came to my house on March 17 for a combined study. My grandparents Vishwanath Shastry and Padmavathy were in the hall. At around 8.30 pm, I heard some noise. Before I realised what was happening, some five people barged into my room and threatened us with a knife. Soon, I realised my grandparents were struggling with their hands and legs tied. After snatching 70-gram gold chain and 30-gram gold bangles from my grandmother, the thieves, it seems, entered the room and escaped with 240-gram gold, all worth Rs 10 lakh. I can recognise the miscreants.”  (MR/KS)
