Two chain snatchers from Mysuru among 4 arrested in Bengaluru

Prime News, Karnataka, Bengaluru/Mysuru, November 25:-  Bengaluru South Police have arrested four persons including two from Mysuru who were snatching chains in Bengaluru and other places.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Farhaz Khan alias Devi, 25; Noor Ahmed alias Saddam, 26; both residents of Mandi Mohalla in Mysuru,  Syed Habib alias Hani Singh, 21 of Kanakanagar; Syed Tabrez, 25 of Anjanapura.

The accused were involved in 23 criminal cases and were leading a luxurious life in a rented house at MKS Layout in Konanakunte, Bengaluru with another accused Noor Ahmed, according to DCP Dr S D Sharanappa. He was running a gang of four and were operating on a motorcycle in and around the city in two groups, at K S Layout, Subrahmanyapura, Girinagar, Basavanagudi and other places by targeting lonely women. They were snatching chains in Mandya, Mysuru, Nanjangud, and Chamarajanagar districts. Police Inspector Guruprasad and the special police team have arrested the four accused.

With the arrest of the accused, the police has solved three cases chain snatching cases of Kumaraswamy Layout, two of Subrahmanyapura, Mandya and Srirangapattana respectively, one each of Girinagar, K R Nagar, Kollegal, and Narasimharaja Mohalla in Mysuru, respectively. In all the police has resolved 14 chain snatching cases.

The accused who discontinued their studies were jobless and took to chain snatching, it is learnt.
