Two-day ‘Sahitya Sambhrama’ in Mysuru from July 13

Mysuru, July 9:- “Mysuru Literary Forum and Charitable Trust and Mysuru Book Clubs (2015) are jointly organising ‘Sahitya Sambhrama’ (Mysuru Literature Festival) event at Hotel Southern Star in the city on July 13 and 14,” said Shubha Sanjay Urs, chairperson of the trust and founder of the book clubs.

“Dr Pramoda Devi Wadiyar will inaugurate the event on July 13 at 2 pm. Renowned writer Dr Devadatta Patnaik will speak about Ramayana and Mahabharata. Sessions on ‘life and writings’ of Girish Karnad will also be held,” she said while addressing a press conference at Mysuru Press Club on Monday.

“Sessions on various issues will be held in Kannada and English in two halls. Discussions will be held on directors, writers, orators and the Wadiyars of Mysuru will be held. Filmmaker TS Nagabharana, B Suresh, Chaithanya, Venkatesh Prasad, Bhagirathi Bai Kadam and others will be present,” she said.

“Well-known writer Shobha De, Srinivas Jain of NDTV, Shanthakumar, Manu Pillai, former ambassador Nirupama Menon Rao and others will present topics in English,” Shubha Sanjay Urs added.

She said that the organisation will provide the awards from next year as all the funds has been donated for the reconstruction of flood affected places in Kodagu district. She said that the entry is free for all.
