Mysuru, June 3:- “A two-floor parking facility will be constructed in front of the Mysuru zoo,” said District In-charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa after a visit to the zoo on Friday.
“The plot in front of the zoo has been given to zoo authority on lease for 30 years. Building plan has been done for the parking facility. The authority over the parking lot will be decided between the zoo, government and MCC. The building will have enough space to park 40 buses and 250 cars. This will go a long way in easing parking woes. The parking facility near the town hall is 90% completed and will be available for use soon,” he said
“The amphitheatre being constructed at the zoo at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah shortly. A vehicle-free walking path will also be constructed,” he added.
Dr Mahadevappa inaugurated the bear house on the occasion. MLA M K Somashekar, Mayor M J Ravi Kumar, zoo board president Mallige Veeresh, MUDA President Dhruvakumar, Kamala Karikalan, MCC Commissioner G Jagadish and others were present. (MR/BM)
