Two houses burgled in Alanahalli Police limits; valuables and cash worth lakhs stolen

Mysuru, November 20:- Burglary incidents are increasing day by day in the city. House burglaries have been taking place almost every day. Two complaints of house burglary have been registered at Alanahalli Police Station.

Ashok Kumar of Teachers Colony had gone out of the city for two days from November 16 to 18. His house owner K C Nagaraj called him to inform that his house had been robbed. Miscreants have opened the front door and have stolen gold necklace of 40 gram, two pairs of gold bangles of 32 gram, gold bangles of 20 gram, child’s bangles of 16 gram, waist gold chain of 20 gram, earrings of 14 gram, a diamond bangle and silver plate of 500 gram, another silver plate of 320 gram, silver lamp pair 400 gram, silver coin – 50 gram, two silver coins of 100 gram each, silver plate of 100 gram, silver waist chain of 100 gram, silver spoon and cup of 200 gram, and cash of Rs 70,000 have been stolen. Valuables worth Rs 5 lakh were stolen. A complaint has been registered at Alanahalli Police Station.

In another complaint, S Basavarajappa, also a resident of Teachers Layout has also filed a complaint at Alanahalli Police Station that his house was burgled and valuables stolen.

He had locked the door of the house on November 16 and had been to Kanchipuram and returned on November 18 at 4 am. He came to know that miscreants had broke open the door and got into the house and have stolen coral chain of 18 gram, gold earrings set of 16 varieties of 20 gram, a pair of earrings, another plate earring, white ring, gold bangle of 10 gram, chain, ladies watch of 50 gram and diamond earrings. All these valuables worth about Rs 2.5 lakh were stolen. They have also stolen cash of Rs 5 lakh, SBI FD letters of Rs 8 lakh, LIC bonds of Rs 25,000, SBI life bond of Rs 2 lakh, HDFC bond of Rs 3 lakh, house insurance of Rs 20 lakh have also been stolen.

The residents in several localities of Mysuru dare to venture out in fear of increasing house burglary incidents. They have urged the police department to step up nigh patrolling especially in new extension of the city. (KS, NGB)
