Two cases of house burglaries were reported in Ramakrishnanagar on Tuesday evening. In the first incident, thieves had to return empty handed and in the second incident, they managed to flee with gold, silver articles and cash.
According to the police, burglars entered a house in 5th Cross, Ramakrishnanagar H Block where the family of Jagannath Kamath was staying. Jagannath had built one portion extra on top of his house for his son to stay. Thieves broke open the doors of the portion and returned empty handed as no valuables were kept inside.
The next target was the house of Leena, a native of Kodagu who stayed on the 6th Cross, Ramakrishnanagar H Block. Leena’s family had gone to Virajpet and the house was locked since a week.
On Wednesday morning, neighbours discovered the doors of the house open and called up Leena to inform about it. Kuvempunagar police were later informed and they rushed to the house along with dog squad and finger print experts.
According to Leena’s friends who visited the house, gold, silver articles and cash were kept inside the house and were missing now. The exact value of the goods stolen could be estimated only after Leena’s arrival, the police said.
