Two Mysuru doctors killed in car mishap

Two doctors from Mysuru died on the spot when the car in which they were travelling rammed into a parked lorry on Ballari Road in Ramapura town of Chitradurga district on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Dr Manjunath Shenoy (51), Professor and General Surgeon, JSS Medical College and Hospital,Mysuru and Dr Narendra Srinivas (23), a Post-Graduate student of General Surgery, JSS Medical College, Mysuru.

 

According to sources, Dr Shenoy along with three of his students was heading towards Ballari to attend ‘Surgery Quest-2016, a medical conference when the car in which they were travelling crashed into a parked lorry on the main road. Dr Manjunath and Dr Narendra died on spot while the other two occupants Dr Venkatesh (27) and Dr Varaprasad (32) were seriously injured and were shifted to Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences in Ballari for treatment.

The bodies of Dr Manjunath and Dr Narendra were handed over to the family after postmortem.
