Two-wheeler rider injured while trying to evade traffic police

Mysuru, July 16:- A 45-year-old man was injured when he rammed his two-wheeler into a barricade while trying to evade Mysuru City Traffic Police personnel during a traffic inspection at the check-post near JK Tyres factory on KRS Road in the city on Sunday.

The injured has been identified as Suresh, a resident of Palahalli village in Srirangapattana.

According to police, Suresh was returning home in a two-wheeler without wearing a helmet. When he saw the drive against helmetless riding, he sped away trying to evade but hit a barricade and sustained injuries.

He was injured on his head and was rushed to a private hospital nearby where he is undergoing treatment.

People gathered in large numbers on the road and staged a protest against the police and raised slogans against them for harassing two-wheeler riders. -KK
