Special processions, religious and agro rituals, talks, musical events and almanac reading were held on the occasion at mutt premises yesterday
Special programmes as a part of Ugadi and birth celebrations of Allama Prabhu were held at Suttur in the presence of Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.
Around 10 decorated bullock carts left Sri Mutt early in the morning in a procession along with various performing arts teams to the fields, where land was worshipped and agriculture activities were kick-started. Special poojas were done at the shrine of Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogigalu and Silver Chariot Prakarothsava. Special poojas were held at Sri Someshwaraswamy, Sri Mahadeshwaraswamy, Sri Veerabhadreshwaraswamy and Sri Narayanaswamy temples at Sri Suttur Kshetra.

Basavaraju Kurabeta, a scholar from Hubballi said: “The Sri Shivarathreeshwara Almanac of Sri Dhurmukhinama Samvathsara includes life thoughts related to religion. In the almanac, Mathematics of Drik philosophy, latitudes and longitudes have been used and detailed information on solar system, planetary motion, Dwadasha rashi and Vaasthu Shastra have been provided.”
K G Puttahonnaiah read the almanac and answered questions from the audience. Music teachers of Suttur School presented a vocal performance. Bhaskar welcomed the gathering. Andaiah proposed a vote of thanks.
