As part of the four-day Ugadi jathra mahotsav which is being held from April 5 to 8, at Male Mahadeshwara Hills various rituals will be held since morning.
After offering special prayers to Lord Madappa on April 5, the jathra mahotsav was launched. On April 6, various special prayers were offered to the deity. On April 7 which is the amavasya day, devotees would offer special prayers to the lord. On April 8 the day of Ugadi the main puja will be held between 9:25 am to 10:20 am. Morever every day the golden chariot rathotsav will be held.
To facilitate devotees who would throng the temple, bus facilities have been made. To ensure that no untoward incidents happen three inspectors, nine sub-inspectors, 25 ASIs and as many as 120 policemen, 160 Home Guards and two RPF have been stationed.
