Unfortunate, Governor has okayed Land Reforms Act amendment: Dhruvanarayan

Mysuru, July 15:- Former Chamarajanagar Member of Parliament R Dhruvanarayan is sore that Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala has given his consent to the Land Reforms Act amendment.

He was speaking at a press meet held at Congress Bhavan on JLB Road here on Wednesday (July 15).

“The government has misused the Covid-19 lockdown situation in the state and amended the Land Reforms Act. Congress held statewide protests opposing this amendment. Dalit organisations too protested. Congress will intensify the protests in the coming days,” he said.

“The Act was amended when the session was not taking place. This amendment will adversely affect agriculture. There will be a shortage of food grains in the state because of this,” he added.

“Our leader Siddaramaiah questioned about the irregularities in coronavirus treatment. Siddaramaiah is rightfully doing his duty as a responsible leader of the Opposition. Congress will seek accountability of the government,” he said.

Dhruvanarayan said that the amendment will make poor farmers lose their land.
