Unfortunate that women don’t come forward to demand toilets: Rohan Mallik

Mysuru, July 24:- “It is unfortunate that women who use cell phones don’t demand toilets,” said planning director of Navya Disha organisation Rohan Mallik here on Tuesday. He was speaking at a workshop organised by Navya Disha to create awareness regarding health and cleanliness for rural women at Chikkammatayi Yatri Bhavan at T Narasipura.

“The organisation is providing loans for rural women for toilet construction, education of their children, house repairs and other purposes. Women have to make use of these facilities. Toilets play an important role in women leading a respectful life in the society. Instead of forcing their husbands for gold ornaments, women should force for toilets at home,” he added.

Health officer Dr Mahadevaswamy, deputy tahsildar Krishnamurthy, PSI N Anand, Arun Kumar, Girish and others were present. (MR/KS).
