Mysuru: Inauguration of “Unlearn India” was held at GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women here on Monday. The programme was initiated by Mysore Chamber of Commerce & Industries (MCCI) in association with RiiiT and conducted for the faculties of GSSSIETW by the Department of MBA, GSSSIETW.
Venkatesh S V, founder of RiiiT and Advisor, NSDC, government of India, was the key speaker of the event.The main objective of this programme was to improve thinking quality, eliminate unwanted fear, achieve emotional and professional balance and most importantly to unlearn ineffective practices and find out better ways doing things.
Dr. Shivakumar M, Principal, GSSSIETW, addressed the gathering and briefed about the vision of the institution. He shared with the gathering about various initiatives taken by GSSSIETW which aimed at offering a wide range of benefits to the students and helping them to enhance their knowledge and skillsets. He further spoke about the importance of unlearning and why it is necessary for the teachers. He said until the teachers learn the art of unlearning it will not reach the students.
A S Sathish, President MCCI, Mysuru, addressed the gathering by giving an introduction of MCCI. He briefed about how MCCI is collaborating with government of Karnataka and other associationsto organize various events to bring about change in the society.
Venkatesh emphasised on the need of empowering teachers in order to improve the quality of students. He spoke about the importance of revamping the education system, by unlearning all the old methodologies which are no longer worth. (MR).
