Unnecessary to discuss with prejudiced minds: Minister CT Ravi

Mysuru, September 30:- “It is unnecessary to debate and discuss with prejudiced minds. Their only work is to insult the culture and heritage of India,” said Minister for Tourism, Kannada and Culture CT Ravi.

He was speaking at a discussion with media persons at Mysuru Press Club on Saturday.

“I object to Mahisha Dasara. It is not right to permit an event that would cause a demonic mindset in the society. Duty of some people is to twist the history the way they want,” he said.

“No regional language school is closed due to Hindi. So-called Kannada activists, who are aware of the reasons why regional language schools are closing, are not raising a voice. Let them prove Hindi is the reason behind the closing of Kannada medium schools. English medium is the reason behind the closure of regional language schools in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and other states. Why they are not raising voice against English medium schools,” Ravi questioned.

“The tourism department has not proposed construction of Disneyland near KRS Reservoir. We are not opposing it either. But our department is not wealthy enough to spend Rs 1,500 crore on Disneyland. I am studying tourism spots of the state. I will build the department strongly in the next few months. Party didn’t get even a single seat in Mandya district. Whom shall we make minister from there? In fact, our Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa himself is from Mandya,” he added.

Mysuru District Journalists’ Association (MDJA) president CK Mahendra and secretary Lokesh Babu were present. (MR/KMR)
