Covid-19 pandemic: UoM exams for Chinese students being held in advance

Mysuru, June 4:- Officials of Higher Education Department of China have requested the University of Mysore (UoM) to organise examinations for Chinese students at the earliest. Based on their request, UoM has started the post-graduation exams in advance. More than 100 students from China are writing the exams.

Exams for students of MSc in Information Technology started on June 1. Three papers have been completed and the exam will be completed by June 6.

The examination is being held at the Foreign Students Centre of UoM campus. All precautionary measures are taken to avoid the spreading of coronavirus. Vice-chancellor of UoM Prof G Hemanth Kumar said that all students have been provided with separate hand sanitiser. Wearing of face masks is made compulsory for all the students.

Students are writing two exams every day and the exam is held from 9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. The exams were supposed to be held from June 15 for Chinese students. The Embassy of China in Delhi asked the university to hold the exams. These students will head back to China on June 7 and 8. (MR/KS)
