UoM invites application for admission to PG, UG programmes under ODL mode

Mysuru, July 23:-University of Mysore (UoM), Directorate of Distance Education has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to the following programmes under Open Distance Learning (ODL) mode as approved by Distance Education Bureau of University Grant Commission.

The courses offered under Graduate programmes are: Bachelor of Arts (BA) with three optional, Economics, English and History;  Kannada, Political Science and Sociology.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and BSc (Information Technology)

Post-Graduate programmes: Master of Arts in Kannada (MA in Kannada), Master of Arts in English (MA in English), Master of Arts in Economics (MA in Economics), Master of Arts in History (MA in History), Master of Arts in Political Science (MA in Political Science), Master of Arts in Sociology (MA in Sociology), Master of Commerce (MCom), Master of Science in Information Technology (MSc in IT).

The eligible candidates to submit the filled in application along with DD to the Office of the Director, Directorate of Distance Education, National Centre for History of Science Building, Manasagangothri, Mysuru.

The application should be enclosed with the self attested copies of the relevant documents. At the time of application submission, candidates have to produce all original documents for verification. The candidates found to be eligible for admission by the respective selection committee can get admitted by paying the prescribed fee to the general revenue account number 54007591471 before the deadline.

Immediately after paying the prescribed fee, the candidates should enroll for the programme at the office of the Director, Directorate of Distance Education.

The candidates who wish to submit an application through postal services have to send the duly filled application form along with self attested copies of all relevant documents and a DD of Rs 400 towards application fee and a separate DD for the prescribed fee for the programme. These candidates are provisionally admitted. However, they are required to get the admission confirmed by producing the original copies of the documents during period of contact programmes. Otherwise, their provisional admission is liable to be forfeited.

It is mandatory that the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe who seek admission under fee concession scheme are required to submit the necessary documentary evidence along with online enrollment number by enrolling themselves in a relevant web portal of the government through online. However, if the online web portal of the government is not functioning, the candidates are allowed to take provisional admission by paying the mandatory fee of Rs 1000 such is the case; the candidates have to enroll once the web portal is made available and submit the online enrollment number to the office of the Director, Directorate of Distance Education. Otherwise, the candidates have to pay the remaining part of the prescribed fee.

Deadline for submission of application and also for admission is July 31 without fine and August 31 with Rs 200 fine.
