UoM invites applications for PhD entrance examination 2020-21

Mysuru, February 26:- University of Mysore (UoM) has invited applications for PhD Entrance Examination 2019-20 for available seats in various disciplines.

Interested and eligible candidates may apply through online mode. The candidates should check their eligibility exemptions (Section-B) before applying through online mode in the website http://uni-mysore.ac.in. The application form is available on the website till March 16. The dates of entrance examination will be notified on website of the University. All the examinations will be conducted in Mysuru centre only.

Candidates who have secured at least, 55 percent of aggregate marks for general merit candidates, 50 percent for OBC candidates and 45 percent for SC/ST/Cat-1/PC/transgender, in their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from the recognised universities/institutions are eligible to apply.

Candidates who are currently pursuing their Master’s Degree at final year, may also apply.

The candidates possessing the following are exempted from the Entrance Examination

Candidates who have qualified JRF fellowships/Lectureship through UGC/CSIRNET/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/ICAR/SLET(KSET)GATE and M Phil are exempted from Entrance test said the notification from UoM.

The candidates who are exempted from the Entrance Examination are required to consult the Guides, Supervisors to obtain the consent acceptance letter to apply for Provisional registration.

RGNF/MANF/Project fellows are not exempted from Ph D Entrance Examination.

The prescribed syllabus for the Entrance examination is available subject-wise at www.uni-mysore.ac.in.

The following are the prescribed fees for PhD entrance tests. General merit candidates Rs 1,000 per subject, SC/ST/Cat-1/PC/transgender candidates Rs 400 per subject. Candidates are allowed to apply for only two subjects. There is no upper age limit to apply for the PhD Entrance examination.

Foreign nationals with Indian/foreign degrees have to contact the Director, International Centre, University College of Fine Arts premises, Manasagangothri, and may submit their applications for admission to PhD Degree directly. These candidates are expected to follow the overseas student’s admission norms.
