Mysuru, April 25:- The University of Mysore has suspended two of its professors for campaigning for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Prof Mahesh Chandra Guru of the Department of Communication and Journalism and Prof Aravinda Malagathi of Kuvempu Kannada Study Centre at Manasagangothri here have been suspended.
They are said to have campaigned for Siddaramaiah at Ramakrishnanagar in the city. The then Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru K B Shivakumar had written a letter to the Registrar of UoM D Bharathi to investigate and take action. After she failed to any action, Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Darpan Jain checked with the Registrar, who later suspended the professors. (MR/KS).
