University of Mysore commemorative coins of Rs 5 and Rs 100 5 are all set to get released by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday at Crawford Hall.
To commemorate the centenary celebrations of the UoM, the coins were scheduled to be released in the first week of this month. But due to various reasons, it was postponed. Siddaramaiah is said to release the commemorative coins on Friday which makes the university the second one in the country to release commemorative coins, after Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
UoM was given permission from University Grants Commission and Union Finance Ministry to release the commemorative coins. On the occasion, ‘Centenary Coffee Table Book’, reflecting 100 years of journey of the university will also be released.
