Mysuru, December 14:- Prof G Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, inaugurated new professional programmes BBA and BSc at Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajana Education Centre, KRS Road, Metagalli, here recently organised by Mahajana Education Society (MES).
These new UG professional courses of BBA (Aviation and International Tourism), (Hotel and Hospitality); BSc (Food Processing and Quality Management), (Forensic Science) and (Geology) have direct application in the industry and help students to pursue a career in the respective field of study.
In his inaugural address, Prof Kumar said that these programmes will help the students to shape up their life by creating job opportunities in future endeavours. He said these skilled programmes pertinent to observe have the ability to access job opportunities and students should learn in well-equipped lab educationally; professionally and skill-wise.
He remembered and recalled the memorable phrases of ‘Bharata Ratna’ Dr Radhakrishnan ‘that education should change as the time changes,’ pursues the needs of the society’ and opines that these skilled programmes will empower the students to secure self-sustained livelihood opportunities.
Prof Kumar also highlighted ‘being teacher it is more responsible to motivate the students to pursue their career with good exposures.’ He congratulated the Mahajana Education Society for offering these professional courses in Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajana Education Centre.
While delivering the presidential address, Mahajana Education Society president T Muralidhar Bhagavat said that “Our Institute is the first in Mysuru to provide skill development programme for the UG cadre and the syllabus for these courses was designed by the expert scholars and academicians. He opined that priority will be to nurture students on employability as per the needs of the industry and society.
On this occasion, he pointed out that Mahajana Education Society is the first in Karnataka giving 25% fee concession for ex-servicemen and differently-abled children.
Director of Pooja Bhagavat Mahajana Education Centre, Dr C K Renukarya briefed about the structure of new professional programmes. He highlighted that these programs are designed to suit industrial needs. On this occasion, Prof Kumar was honoured by the Management of Mahajana Education Society.
Dr Vijayalakshmi Muralidhar, secretary, Mahajana Education; Dr Sathish G Chetty, professor and head, Department (Aviation and Tourism), Cdr H N Satish (retired), HoD (Tourism and Hospitality) Dr Jayakumari, principal, SBRR Mahajana First Grade College and Prof S R. Ramesh, CEO and Chief Scientist, SBRR Mahajana First Grade College were present.
Premajyothi and team rendered invocation, Cdr H N Satish (retired), welcomed the guests and the gathering. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Satish G Chetty.
