Utham Aiyappa, Chethan to represent Mysuru Warriors in KPL 2019

Mysuru, July 31:- NR Group, owners of Mysuru Warriors, successfully concluded the Talent Hunt, a grassroots programme for KPL 2019 associate sponsor Cycle Pure Agarbathies.

The Talent Hunt was conducted over two legs, in Bengaluru and Mysuru. Utham Aiyappa and Chethan L R are the two players, who emerged from the Mysuru Warrior’s Grassroot Talent Hunt Programme, to represent the team, this season.

Aiyappa is an all-rounder who represents Jo Jo Cricket Club in Group I, Division I in Mysuru Zone. Member of University of Mysuru, runner of South Zone Inter-varsity and runner-up of All India Rohinton Baria Trophies. He also represented South Zone in Vizzy Trophy.

Chethan L R is from Saraswathipuram Cricket, a wicket-keeper and opening batsman. He has represented state junior and highest run-getter in Group I, Division 2 in KSCA, Bengaluru.

Talent Hunt by Mysuru Warriors was concluded successfully with over 535 budding aspirants. The Mysuru edition saw 215 budding aspirants prove their capabilities. These included 35 batsmen, 58 all-rounders, 32 spinners, 85 fast bowlers and 5 wicket-keepers. Bengaluru’s Just Cricket Academy in Yelahanka, witnessed 300 youth cricketers, try out for a spot in the Mysuru Warriors. These were a mixed lot, consisting of 70 medium pace bowlers, 50 spinners, 75 batsmen, 80 all-rounders and 25 wicket-keepers.

Of these 50 youth players selected from two legs were made to play a trial match in Mandya on July 23 at PET Grounds. In the 50 who played the trail match, two of them have been selected to represent Mysuru Warriors in KPL 2019.

The KPL 2019 associate sponsor Cycle Pure Agarbathies, will be full of surprises with promising players from all over the state, going head to head in pursuit of the ultimate prize. (MR)
