Sports, State (Bengaluru), May 23:- It may be too early to say anything right now. But indications are that dashing Karnataka opener Robin Uthappa is contemplating shifting his base to Kerala. If things work out, Uthappa may play for Kerala from the next season. A prolific scorer for Karnataka since he made his debut in 2002, Uthappa’s performance, especially this year, has not been up to the mark. As a result, he was dropped for a few matches this season. This may have prompted Kolkata Knight Riders’ player to take a decision on his career.
Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) secretary Jayesh George said that talks were on with 31-year-old Uthappa. “The KCA has been talking to Uthappa about him playing for Kerala team in the domestic cricket. On his part, Uthappa had told KCA members he would revert after the IPL,” George said.
Uthappa revealed that talks were on with KCA. All said and done, the way things are moving, it is more likely that the Kodava will play for Kerala. (MR).
