Hundreds of devotees stood in long queues at the famous Sri Lakshmi Venkataramanaswamy temple in Vontikoppal, Yoga Narasimha Swamy temple and Iskcon temple at Jayanagar for the darshan of the Lord Venkateshwara. The festivities began as early as 4.30 am at most of the temples. The temple authorities have made enough preparations to allow the devotees to have the darshan of the lord without any problems.

According to Hindu scriptures, darshan of Lord Vishnu or his other forms on this day will help one achieve moksha (emancipation).

The “Vaikunta Dwara” was opened after the priests performed various rituals at the temples.

The shrines were specially decorated with a variety of flowers to mark the occasion. Special rituals were performed at Lord Venkateshwara temples across the city. Vaikunta Ekadashi was also celebrated at the ISKCON temple with much fanfare. (MR).
