Vanamahotsava and Koti Vruksha Andolana – 2016 held at Srirangapatna

Vanamahotsava and Koti Vruksha Andolana – 2016 was organised by  Eco – Club of GSSS Badriprasadji PU College and Simha Subbamahalakshmi First Grade College in association with Forest Department, Government of Karnataka, at Srirangapatna, recently. A procession was held to create awareness about environment in prominent areas of Srirangapatna. Around 250 saplings were planted in Karighatta reserved forest area by the students.


C S Puttaraju, MP, Mandya district, inaugurated the programme by planting the sapling. Ramesh Bandisiddegowda, MLA, Srirangapatna presided over the function. Chief Guest of the function Vanaja B Pandit, Secretary GSSS(R), was honored on this occasion. Tashildar of Srirangapatna Dayanand, DFO Chandrashekar, Srirangapatna region RFO K M Mariswamy, Eco-Club convener C V Thyagarajaiah,, Staff and students were present.
