He said that many are selling duplicate Mysuru Silk Sarees. The government-owned sarees cannot be sold by private agents. We have already formed an awareness wing to curb such activities, he informed.
He said to improve sale of Mysuru Silk, official shops will be opened at various tourism places across the nation and foreign countries.
The minister has said Mysore Race Club (MRC) will be shifted. “The club will be shifted to 110 acres of land at Himmavu. Though the district administration has not given the permission for the race course, they are continuing it by getting permission from the court. They permitted only the horse race, but they are housing more than 800 horses at the premises. They have cheated the government to the tune of Rs 39 crore in the form of tax,” Mahesh alleged.
