“People are becoming more attracted towards the adventure sports nowadays. Mysureans respond to the adventure sports positively. We have sent a proposal to the state government to make adventure sports permanent in Mysuru,” said Anupam Agarwal, Director of Youth Eempowerment and Sports Department.
He was speaking during the ‘Dasara Sahasotsava’ organised at the Varuna Lake on the Mysuru-T N Pura road.
“Every year, Dasara Sahasothsava is organised in Mysuru. This year General Thimmaiah National Adventure Academy is hosting the sports. There are several varieties of adventurous water sports. A tourist hotspot like Mysuru should have a permanent adventure sports centre and we have already sent a proposal for that,” he added.
“We possess more than 20 professional instructors. All are experienced and are hosting the event very well. There is variety of sports which the enthusiasts can enjoy the most. We have female instructor to access women who wish to take part in the sports,” said the director of General Thimmaiah National Adventure Academy, Prakash Harikanth.
The adventure sports has got speed boat, jetski, kayaking, water surfing, banana boat ride and canoeing. The sports are held from October 1 to October 9.
