Vasu laments pathetic condition of govt schools

A new facility, including three new classroom and infrastructure, was inaugurated at Maharaja Bifurcated College on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Vasu lamented that most of the government schools in the district are in a devastated state with poor facilities. He said that the condition in most the schools is pathetic, not even worth for stray dogs to live. When the authorities of Maharaja Bifurcated College approached me I took stock of the situation and extended Rs 31.50 lakh for the construction of new building. Providing good infrastructure at government schools is a necessity. Mysuru City Corporation should take it seriously and take up renovation of old school buildings.”

Reacting to Marigowda incident, he said that the incident is condemnable. “One should know to respect an IAS officer and that too a lady officer. Whatever that person’s contacts are, legal action should be initiated. If it were to be my son,  would have asked the police to take strict action,” he added.

Mayor B L Bhyrappa remembered the contribution of Maharajas of Mysuru in establishing educational institutions in the state. “Now these buildings are in a pathetic state and we must provide good infrastructure at government schools and create good learning environment.”

Reacting to recent incidents of suicide by IAS/ KAS officers, he said it was unfortunate and being educated, these officers should not commit suicide and this will send wrong message to the society. Everyone must have the courage to face any kind of situation.”

Deputy Mayor Vanitha Prasanna, Corporator Shivamma and others were present.
