Vatal Nagaraj protests demanding flood relief funds

Mysuru, September 3:- Vatal Nagaraj of Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Party staged a protest in front of the Mysuru Railway Station here on Monday, urging the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release flood relief funds immediately.

“Narendra Modi should release flood relief funds before coming to Bengaluru. The central government should release Rs 50,000 crore in first installment. The name of Tipu Express should not be changed,” he said.

“State is suffering from the floods unheard of before. They are giving compensation only in words, but not in action. Prime Minister used to provide compensation to Kerala and Tamil Nadu immediately and is being partial to Karnataka,” he alleged.

“There was no need for three deputy chief ministers (DCM) in the state. Constitution doesn’t permit that. We have already released more than instructed amount of water to Tamil Nadu. I oppose the formation of the Cauvery Water Management Authority. Mekedatu Dam should be constructed soon. I will stage a protest near Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru next week wearing half police shirt,” he added. (MR/KS)
