“Ugly spat between the in-charge Vice Chancellor and the Registrar of the University of Mysore has shamed century-old university. Progressive thinkers should interfere to sort out the differences between the two,” said president of Karnataka State Naiks Welfare Association, Devappa Naik.
He was speaking at a press meet at the Mysuru Press Club on Saturday.
“Both the administrators belong to dalit community. It is a planned move to snatch their positions. Prof Rajanna has no power to appoint or suspend employees. VC should take action against him in this regard,” he added.
“The students’ protesting against the administration of the university every now and then is not right. They should concentrate on their studies,” he added. He also urged the Governor to addres the problems faced by UoM.
State secretary of the association, Prabhakar Hunsur, Treasurer Kerehalli Madesh, district secretary Suresh Kumar, city president Raju, Srinivas Kadakola and others were present.
