Mysuru, September 9:- Former chief minister Siddaramaiah has requested District in-charge Minister V Somanna to act wisely on vacating shops atop Chamundi Hills until some alternate facility is provided.
He discussed with Somanna and Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar over the phone on the issue.
He urged them to provide an alternate facility for the vendors first before asking them to clear the shops on the footpath.
Siddaramaiah’s action follows after the roadside vendors met him and sought his support against the move of the MCC.
Hundreds of them merchants visited the Cauvery residence of Siddaramaiah and said they would be on roads if the shops are closed down. (MR/KS).
