Mysuru, July 12:-Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu who is expected to arrive in Mysuru today evening, will lay the foundation stone for Dr S Radhakrishnan auditorium at Regional Institute of Education (NCERT) at 9 am in the Technology Block of the Institute.
Vice-President Naidu is also the chief guest at the programme and Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala will be the guest of honour.
Dr S Radhkrishnan, former President of India, a noted educationist had visited the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), here on December 7, 1965 and planted a sapling which has grown with the institute for the last 54 years. To commemorate the visit of Dr S Radhkrishnan and his contribution to the field of education, RIE choose to name the new auditorium after him.
Naidu will address the gathering on “Reflections on school and teacher education in India.”
Prof H K Senapathy, director, NCERT, New Delhi and Y Sreekanth, principal, RIE, will also be present on the occasion. (NAV)
