MCC Vigilance team to monitor building violations

Prime News, State (Mysuru), July 10:- Mysuru City Corporation (MCC)  has formed a vigilance team to monitor building violations in in the heritage city.

MCC Commissioner Jagadeesha on Monday said that the three-member team will be directly reporting to him will be on road in a day or two.

Recently, Consumer Forum had discussed several issues at its monthly meeting, including online payment of property tax, building bylaw violations and food preparation using banned plastic and printed papers.

Jagadeesha said that if any building is found, architects and even contractors will be held responsible. He added that “it has come to the notice of  the MCC that architects are preparing two plans, one for approval from the corporation and another for construction purpose. In such a case, the licence of architects will be cancelle.”

The commissioner also said that stringent action will be taken against all the hotels and restaurants that use plastic utensils and mould to prepare food as the use of plastic is totally banned in Mysuru.
