Villagers demand govt-owned wine shop

Mysuru, June 1:- “The government-owned retailed wine shop (MSIL) has been granted to Saraguru town in H D Kote taluk. It should be started as soon as possible,” said villagers Krishna, Manjunath and Ramamurthy.

“The town which has a population over 18,000 needs a government wine shop. The bars are selling low quality drinks for a higher price,” they alleged.

MLA Chikkamadu is apparently against the shop and wants a stay. The villagers urged the Deputy Commissioner, D Randeep to intervene and settle the matter amicably. (MR/KMR).
