Violation of code of conduct: Action sought against MP Simha

Mysuru, March 14:- President of Karnataka Backward Communities Welfare Association, K S Shivaramu has alleged that Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha has violated election code of conduct by distributing booklets having his images and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders. He requested the Election Commission of India to suspend him immediately.

He presented the unofficially printed booklets at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Thursday. Shivaramu alleged that Simha distributed 50,000 booklets on March 11 and used postmen of various Post Offices which is a clear violation of election code of conduct.

“With his influence as an MP, a transparent election cannot be held in Mysuru-Kodagu Constituency. The central government is misusing government bodies and offices,” he alleged.

He also demanded the suspension of Superintendent of Postal Department of Mysuru division for distributing the booklets.

Mahesh Gowda, Kadanahalli Swamy Gowda, Satish Kumar, Zakir Hussain, Prasanna Doddundi and others were present. (MR/KMR).
