Mysuru, June 19:- Members of Brahmana Yuva Vedike met Revenue Minister R V Deshpande and requested him to start Vipra Nidhi in Karnataka as in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.
“There are many poor families in Brahmin community. They don’t get any support from the government in education, health and job-related issues. State government should start giving more emphasis on these issues. Deshpande has to discuss this in the Assembly session,” said the president of Brahmana Yuva Vedike, H N Sridhar Murthy.
“There have been requests for Brahmin development board over the years. Discussions were held with economic experts regarding the same. Vipra Nidhi will be formed in this coalition government. A team of Brahmin community will be sent to Telangana for a study,” the minister promised.
Mullur Guruprasad, Vinay Kanagal, K V Ram Kumar, Dr Sujatha S Rao, Dr K V Usha, Latha Mohan, Veena and others were present. (MR/SH).
