Mysuru, December 24:- State president of VSS Vishnu Sena Raju Gowda said that the organisation would stage indefinite hunger strike on December 26 in Bengaluru and Mysuru to urge the state government to start construction of Dr Vishnuvardhan memorial soon.
Speaking at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Saturday, he urged the government to take back complaints against Abhiman Studio and to discuss with the owners of the studio and the land in Mysuru District as they have decided to come to an agreement.
State secretary of the sena T S Srikanta said that the five chief ministers who have ruled Karnataka in the last 9 years did not make up their mind to construct a memorial for the legendary actor. He urged also the government to hold groundbreaking ceremony for the memorial before December 30.
State general secretary Harish Gowda, district president N Suresh, Bettaswamy Chamarajanagar president Suresh, Mandya District honorary president Betteswamy Gowda, Chandru of Krishnaraja Constituency, Jagadish of J P Nagar and others were present. (KMR, NGB)
