Mysuru, August 19:- Disqualified MLA AH Vishwanath has said that he is happy with the decision of the state government to hand over the telephone tapping case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
He was speaking to media persons in the city on Sunday.
“CBI is a constitutional body. I welcome the decision to hand over the case to CBI. Intelligence Bureau works under the chief minister. This snooping was done as per the instruction of the former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy. I have not diverted any issue,” he added.
“Several Congress leaders, including Siddaramaiah, have demanded CBI investigation. I raised this issue first. It made the state government hand over the case to CBI,” Vishwanath said.
Responding to the CBI probe, Kumaraswamy said let the government hand over the case to international agencies if needed and said Janata Dal (Secular) would cooperate completely. (MR/KS)
