“The Wadiyars of Mysuru have contributed immensely to the development of the state as well as the nation, and their contribution should never be forgotten. They should be remembered for the good deeds they have done during their regime”, said the District In-charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa.
He was speaking after releasing two Kannada books ‘Mysuru rajaru mattu Dasara’ and ‘Mysoremba Pravaasi Swarga’, by renowned Kannada writer and senior journalist Amshi Prasannakumar, organised by ‘Chinthana Chithara’ organisation.
Tourist places such as Badami, Pattadakallu, Aihole are being developed and also the Bengaluru – Mysore road will be widened by the year end, he said.
Minister for Co-operation and Sugar, H S Mahadevaprasad said that due to the problems faced in the agricultural field, tourism has taken a back step. He also said that assisting the farmers at this time of crisis is important for the state.
Member of Parliament from Mysuru and Kodagu, Pratap Simha called upon the budding journalists to learn and follow the principles of the senior and experienced journalists.
MLA Vasu and S Balaraj, renowned historian Prof Nanjaraje Urs and others were present on the occasion.
