Mysuru, July 18:- ‘Bhavadhare,’ singing and explanation of Kannada poetries were held at JSS College for Women at Saraswathipuram here on Tuesday.
“Youths today depend on the latest technologies and get hurt easily and end up losing their lives. There are many reasons to be happy in life. It has become necessary to keep ourselves engaged with a world of our own to be happy. This programme is like creating a new world. This programme is not just an entertainment. We have to understand the beauty of the Kannada language. Education is attracting the minds of people and making them learn things. It develops one’s personality, thinking ability,” said Prof M Krishnegowda, former principal of St Philomena’s College, Bannimantap, Mysuru.
Director of College Education Department of JSS Mahavidyapeetha Prof Morabada Mallikarjuna expressed his happiness over the singing by Nitin Rajaram Shastry and the explanations given by Prof M Krishnegowda.
Pandit Nitin Rajaram Shastry and Shreya Bhat team presented the songs.
The principal of the college, Dr K V Suresh, Dr H B Suresh, Dr S P Umadevi and Dr G R Shivamurthy were present. (MR/GK).
