Mysuru, April 28:- The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru, organised a webinar on “Art and science of engineering product designs” on Saturday (April 24).
Anantha Bhat, founder and managing director, Chowki Services Private Limited, Bengaluru, was the chief guest and resource person for the event.
Addressing the participants, Anantha Bhat stressed the importance of learning through reading, re-read, reformat, reconnect and retell. He underlined the importance of soft skills such as communication and time management as part of technical education which GSSSIETW has been inculcating among the students right from the first semester.
He instructed the students to know the field in which they are good and work on enhancing their knowledge in the field of their interest to excel in life. He emphasised that engineering design is an art and everyone can design in a different way to get the best design for the problem that is to be solved. He discussed the importance of feasibility study while developing products with better performances.
Dr Shivakumar M, principal, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, gave an overview of the focus towards the engineering design for meeting today’s world technology requirements.
Vanaja B Pandit, secretary, GSSS, who delivered the presidential address, emphasised the importance of creativity of the students along with analytical and design skills.
The webinar began with the welcome address by Dr Raviraj P, professor, Department of CSE, GSSIETW, Mysuru. Dr Jayanth J, associate professor, Department of ECE, introduced Anantha Bhat to the participants.
Dr Gururaj K S, professor, Department Of CSE, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, proposed the vote of thanks. The faculty members and the pre-final year students of GSSSIETW gained knowledge and an opportunity to expose the inherent talents in programming, design and development of products. (MR)
