Mysuru, November 30:- A new website will soon be inaugurated to give information on loan facilities for small and medium scale businesses, job availability and other details,” said Minister for Small and Medium Scale Industries, S R Srinivas.
He was speaking at an awareness programme on ‘Karnataka industrial policy 2014-19 and ease of doing business,’ organised by MSME Development Board of the Government of India, Karnataka State Finance Corporation, District Industrial Centre and Association of Micro, Small and Large-scale industries at Rani Bahadur auditorium at Manasagangotri here on Thursday.
“The department has been made to look like real estate industry. The officials who had to work for the people have split into two teams and are fighting among themselves. Officers have become whales,” the minister said.
“SC/ST students wish to start small-scale industries with enthusiasm after completing their education. They should be given encouragement. They start industries with subsidy but close down after two months. Don’t do like that. Make use of government schemes. Or else honest people will be troubled,” he added.
“The use of technology is needed for all sorts of industries. We will collect information regarding the resource persons in this field and they will be made to train youngsters. I will discuss with officials to solve all the problems,” said District In-charge Minister G T Devegowda.
MLC R Dharmasena, former MLA Vasu, Karnataka Industries Association Basavaraj Javali, director of the department Darpan Jain, MIA vice president Eshwar Rao, Ravikiran Kulkarni, Lingaraju and others were present. (MR/MN)
