Weekend curfew from tomorrow: DCP Prakash Gowda

Several business establishments shut shop on their own on Ashoka Road and D Devaraja Urs Road in Mysuru on Thursday

Mysuru, April 22:- In view of the spiralling coronavirus cases, a curfew has been declared in Karnataka during weekends. The police department has asked the shops that are not essential to remain closed till May 4.

Mysuru Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dr A N Prakash Gowda said, “Responding to our request, many commercial shops have remained closed. There will be a weekend curfew from tomorrow (April 23) evening till April 26 morning. The business will be allowed from 6 am in the morning till 10 am during weekend curfew.

Dr Gowda said, “Meat shops should only keep what they can sell in the available time. Hair salons and beauty parlours are exempt from the curfew. All the bars, restaurants and hotels will be offering only takeaway service. As Section 144 will be in force, crowding of people is prohibited.”
