The residents of Mysuru can have a breather. They can enjoy the dip in mercury level and expect moderate rainfall in the next three days.
According to officials at the Organic Farming Research Station, Naganahalli, light rainfall may be expected from May 11 to 13 in Mysore district. The day temperature is expected to be between 34-35°C and the night temperature is expected to hover between 21-22°C. The relative humidity in the morning hours is expected to be 78-84 percent and the afternoon relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 43 to 59 percent. Wind speed is expected to be 0-4 km/hr. The minimum temperature will remain at 22°C on May 11 and 21 degree Celsius on May 13. The relative humidity stood between 78 to 84 percent (08:30 hours) and between 43 to 59 percent (17:30 hours).
Fallow ploughing: Farmers are recommended to plough the land in the areas where rainfall has been received and ploughing should be undertaken across the slope, for it improves infiltration and conservation of rain water and keeps the land ready for pre-monsoon crop sowing. Farmers are advised to purchase seeds from authorised dealers with blue tags only.
Vaccinate cattle before the onset of monsoon against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD vaccination), BC vaccination against black quarter and also vaccinate cow, buffalo and bullock against Haemorrhagic Septicaemia. Vaccinate (ET vaccine) sheep and goats against Enterotoxaemia before the onset of monsoon.
