Commercial interests prevailed over ethical concerns. Right? But the shameful incidents raise a number of other questions about the lapses and failure of the Bangalore city police to prevent the mass assault on women. Where were the top/senior cops when the mass shame unravelled? Partying, instead of providing leadership, direction to their juniors in the holding operation that turned out to be a terrible fiasco? Actually, it was also a miserable failure of leadership. A high level probe alone would bring out the truth and enable the Govt. to fix responsibility for the shameful episode. Nobody should be allowed to get away with it. Needless to say, the issue should not be politicised by political parties/politicians in order to get political mileage out of it.
