Wild elephant dies; forest dept faces heat

Mysuru, April 29:- Close on the heels of Dasara jumbo Drona’s death last Friday, negligence on the part of forest department about the death of a wild elephant is flying fast and thick. A wild elephant, it seems, lost its life due to shabby treatment by the forest department.

The forest department has issued a statement that a female elephant, 45, died of weakness at Aane Chowkuru forest area. The elephant collapsed due to weakness in the forest on Sunday. Public and animal lovers have alleged forest department has been careless in its approach. The forest department is already in the firing line over the death of Drona. (MR/KS).
